Your Invitation to Become a Friend of the Orchestra
The orchestra needs your financial support. Here’s how you can help and become a VIP audience member!
Sheffield Chamber Orchestra has been committed to offering varied, exciting programmes of music and supporting talented soloists for over fifty years. As costs are continually rising (such as music and concert venue hire) and as grants have significantly reduced, it is a challenge for any musical society to remain financially stable. Like many amateur orchestras, SCO relies entirely upon members’ subscriptions, tickets sales and the support of its friends to continue the tradition of live music in Sheffield. The Orchestra is greatly indebted to the support it receives from the Friends of Sheffield Chamber Orchestra, each of whom makes a generous annual donation. We appreciate there are multiple calls on your resources – but a regular and reliable income helps Sheffield Chamber Orchestra plan ahead.
This is how you can help… If you enjoy our concerts or are a lover of chamber music and would like to contribute to the continuing life of SCO, then please consider becoming a Friend of the Orchestra. There are four tiers of support you can pledge, which will each give you different perks!

Gift Aid
If you pay UK Tax at the standard rate, your financial contribution can be further enhanced at no extra cost to yourself if you complete the Gift Aid declaration on the application form (more information is given on the form). Gift Aid allows us to reclaim from HMRC an extra 25p for every £1 that you donate, so please make the declaration if you possibly can.
To request the application form please contact the Friends Co-ordinator.
Existing Friends
If you became a Friend some time ago, please take a few moments to consider whether you might increase the amount which you currently donate. Our costs have risen dramatically in the last few years and interest rates on our savings have fallen, so we need all the financial help we can get. Thank you.
